Jean D. (Lohman) Krumbach, 90, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at The Huntington at Nashua. She was born on August 28, 1923 in Hawthorne, New Jersey, daughter of William and Winifred (Jeffer) Lohman. She was the wife of the late Otto A. Krumbach who died on October 9, 2005. They were married on February 22, 1947. Jean and Otto lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey for 41 years. During their time in Ridgewood Jean was very active in the community. She was Chairman (Curator) of the Costume Preservation Committee of the Ridgewood Historical Society and Schoolhouse Museum in Ridgewood. As Chairman she obtained state grants for textile preservation of the large costume inventory in the museum and worked for many years organizing and displaying the various collections in the museum. She served the Ridgewood Blood Donors for 27 years on the Board of Directors and as President. She was also Secretary for the Ridgewood Unit of Republican Women and a Valley Hospital volunteer for 35 years. In her later years, she moved with her husband to New Hampshire to be nearer to family. While in New Hampshire she was a member of The First Church (Congregational) U.C.C. as well as an active member of the Huntington community and one of the first residents to have moved there. She was predeceased by her son, Carl A. Krumbach, and two sisters, Ann and Marilyn. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Meg Johnson, Elaine Rapp and husband Chris, and Paul Krumbach and wife Katy; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, William Lohman and wife Bette; as well as several nieces and nephews.
