KEITH DAVID SCHLARF, 58, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011. He was born in Lansing, MI on November 1, 1952 to the late Donald and Ruth (Mutz) Schlarf. Keith was a retired firefighter for NASA / Cape Canaveral in Florida, eventually obtaining the rank of Captain. He was passionate about the Space Shuttle Program and participated in many launches. After moving to Arizona in 2006, Keith immediately sought to volunteer his talents at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum, where he assisted with children's tours and maintenance of equipment. Keith was an avid hunter, gun collector, fisherman, and hiker. He loved to travel. Keith was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the North Scottsdale United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Flynn Schlarf; children, Scott (Lyndsey) Schlarf and Brian Schlarf of Orlando, FL; Karyn (David) Sadewasser of Rochester, NY, Shannon (Richard) Giacomarra of Jersey City, NJ; Grandchildren, Brianna Sadewasser and Frank Giacomarra; brother Kenneth (Beth) Schlarf of Orlando, FL and his beloved dog, PJ. He leaves behind many other family members and close friends. Fireman's Memorial Service honoring Keith's life will be held at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church on Saturday October 1, 2011 at 1:00pm.
