The Bear in the Moon's Light

He wandered his world alone for as long as he could recall, the earth
yielding to his troding paws and game falling to his slashing claws.
His silver fur, turning both wind and rain, his only shield from a world of pain.
Scars from battels long forgotten, remind him of comrads, dead and fallen.
The light in his eyes had started to fade, no longer full of fire, he was only a shade.
Time is his friend when he feels no pain, but slows to a stop, as it starts to rain.
As he groomed his fur for another night, he found himself bathed by the moon's glowing light.
He pondered her beauty, so far out of reach, in a sea full of stars, like the sands on the beach.
She whispered his name, and called to him often. "Come to my light, your pain I will ease, your heart I will soften"
In her glowing light, it no longer rained, again his eyes shined, he felt no more pain.
No longer to worry, no longer to roam.
By the Moon's glowing light....the bear has come home....

If You Could See....

If you could see into my eyes right now, you'd know they're full of
sorrow. For upsetting you so badly, that you may not call tomorrow.
If you could see into my mind right now, you'd see a tangled wreck.
The train of thought I was riding on,has doomed me to regret.
If you could see into my soul right now, you'd see a "Vacant" sign.
The windows closed and covered, through which no light will shine.
If you could see into my heart right now, you'd see it's torn in two.
I'm missing you so badly,a pain I can't go through. They say the road to Hell,
is paved with good intentions,So let me just say one thing,
that I may have forgot to mention,I love you more than life itself,
I know this to be true....So darling please forgive me,for ever hurting you...

The Bear's Memory

I remember days of sun and song....
and nights of moonlight, ever long.

How you would sit upon my ear...
as we spoke about our fears.

Two souls traveling throughout time....
bound by a reason we couldn't find.

Throughout the ages of the past....
by my side you stood forever fast.

Were you a WoodSprite? Or Fairy?
I didn't care...Such are the memories,
of this old Silver Bear.
I remember days of sun and song....
and nights of moonlight, ever long.

How I tended you when you fell ill....
how you calmed me when I wished to kill.

And when this age has passed....
the bond we share will always last.

From the Highlands I will hear your song.. and again we will meet, and continue on.

The tiny Pyper on my ear....
as we speak about our fears.

I remember days of sun and song...and nights of moonlight.......ever long.

for you Lass...

The Night the Moon Went Away

With Silver fur that has now turned grey,
his precious moon, has gone away.
The strength he knew, no longer holds,
his age now shows, his limbs grow cold.
The eyes that burned so very bright,
now strain to see, for lack of light.
The pain her light would forever hold,
has now returned, a thousand fold.
His heart that beat so very strong,
as now gone silent, it sings no song.
The loving home he thought he'd found,
lies now in pieces, across the ground
You see him now, a hollow shell
he's without love........
his soul's in hell.

For what's left of me
