By: Leslie2003 https://princessleia.com/journal/2002/11/10690/comment-page-1/#comment-21801 Tue, 05 Nov 2002 16:09:00 +0000 http://princessleia.com/journal/?p=10690#comment-21801 You know what’s funny?  In your chosen career a degree is generally considered standard and is a big plus on your resume.  In my chosen career people laugh at those of us who get a degree.  I guess the point is I could have just gone on at age 17 and been a working student at some horse farm and worked my way up.  But I actually have learned a ton about horses since I’ve been here, so I’m glad I did it, even if the average horse trainer thinks a college degree is a good waste of four years.  Besides, I’m having a lot of fun here.  I guess it all goes back to whether you think you’d be able to learn useful things in college.  And don’t forget, at a good college they’ll help you find a job after you graduate, so it can’t be a total waste of time.

Eh, who am I kidding.  I’m probably going to end up living with my parents and working retail in South Portland for most of my mid-twenties.
