Michael made pasta and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Falafel\">falafel balls<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><i>Falafel &#8230; is a fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans and\/or chickpeas. It is a highly popular form of fast food in the Arab East, but is also made as a snack food for the youth. Falafel is very common in Greater Syria and it is the most popular daily food in Syria. The word &#8220;falafel&#8221; comes from [an] Arabic word &#8230; meaning pepper.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d never had falafel before, but he figured we should try it as a substitute for meatballs (which I don&#8217;t particularly like).
