Hallmark doesnt make a card for “happy birthday, sorry you’re in detox.” Honestly, what kind of birthday card was I supposed to get my father who just entered rehab? “I hope your birthday is fun and full of surprises!” ? I think not.. I ended up looking at cards for like 10 minutes before I decided on a pretty generic one, still it wasnt entirely appropriate, but is anything at this point?
I got a phone call from my cousin, the one that lives here in philadelphia, yesterday. She mostly wanted to make sure I was up to date on stuff with my father, since last she knew Heather hadn’t even told me. Apparently my dad’s family in new Hamshire is helping heather clean up the house and move stuff… that’s good, I’m glad she has some help (’cause when I talked to her she didnt mention that)… apparently they will help her financially if she needs it. Unfortunately the other news my cousin had for me isnt so great. Apparently she is “lost and doesnt know what she is doing with her life” (this again? does anyone know what they are ever doing?) SO she’s moving back home to NH with her parents.
So the funny thing about this is I’m not at all depressed. Sometimes I get depressed over the silliest little things, but this big serious thing doesnt bother me nearly as much as it should. I am such a woman, heehee. I dunno, maybe it seriously means I have a chemical imbalance and it’s not just life sucking… ’cause life doesnt really suck.. hmm.
