{"id":1260,"date":"2008-07-01T19:00:54","date_gmt":"2008-07-02T00:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/?p=1260"},"modified":"2008-07-01T19:00:54","modified_gmt":"2008-07-02T00:00:54","slug":"ubuntu-classroom-needs-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/2008\/07\/ubuntu-classroom-needs-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Ubuntu Classroom Needs Volunteers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/ubuntu_classroom_logo.png\" alt=\"Ubuntu Classroom\" border=\"0\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Now that all of us have &#8220;recovered&#8221; from the busy Hardy release, we&#8217;re prepared to get back to work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\">Classroom Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of the Classroom Project is to provide a place for teams and individuals to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Host their classes<\/li>\n<li>Promote their classes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Classes range from teaching users how to use Ubuntu to teaching them how to contribute back to the project. <\/p>\n<p>The Classroom team itself focuses on a variety of tasks that are required for managing the joining of expert teachers and students, such as contacting interested teams, doing marketing and confirming that conflicts don&#8217;t come up. This is where you come in. Following our last meeting (<a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\/Meetings\/Minutes2008Jun12\">meeting minutes here<\/a>) we&#8217;re having a discussion on the <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.ubuntu.com\/mailman\/listinfo\/ubuntu-classroom\">mailing list<\/a> regarding the defining of tasks, and have created a volunteers page aggregating these tasks, along with a place to sign up:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\/Volunteer\">https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\/Volunteer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please join us!
