{"id":1381,"date":"2008-11-28T22:29:58","date_gmt":"2008-11-29T03:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/?p=1381"},"modified":"2008-11-28T22:29:58","modified_gmt":"2008-11-29T03:29:58","slug":"upcoming-ubuntu-classroom-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/2008\/11\/upcoming-ubuntu-classroom-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Ubuntu Classroom Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/ubuntu_classroom_logo.png\" alt=\"Ubuntu Classroom\" border=\"0\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>#ubuntu-classroom has been pretty quiet since Ubuntu Open Week earlier this month, so we&#8217;ve gone ahead and made plans for a team meeting next week, details have been <a href=\"http:\/\/fridge.ubuntu.com\/node\/1746\">posted to the fridge<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.ubuntu.com\/archives\/ubuntu-classroom\/2008-November\/000132.html\">I sent out an announcement this evening<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Location: IRC channel #ubuntu-classroom<\/li>\n<li>Time: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/worldclock\/fixedtime.html?month=12&#038;day=3&#038;year=2008&#038;hour=1&#038;min=0&#038;sec=0&#038;p1=0\">2008-12-03 01:00 UTC<\/a> (So that&#8217;s Tuesday evening for those of us in the States)<\/li>\n<li>Agenda: <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\/MeetingAgenda2008Dec3\">https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom\/MeetingAgenda2008Dec3<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While we&#8217;re interested in getting more folks to handle the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Classroom#Volunteer\">administrative tasks<\/a> on the project, we&#8217;re primarily focusing this meeting on two points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How to recruit instructors<\/li>\n<li>Teaming up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/BeginnersTeam\/FocusGroups\/Education\">Beginners Team Education Focus Group<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The latter has resulted from several conversations I&#8217;ve been having over the past few weeks with <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/PrivateVoid\">PrivateVoid<\/a> who has poured hours of work into the Education Focus Group. Discussions started out primarily being about hosting their IRC sessions in #ubuntu-classroom, but have since developed into a lot of fantastic ideas he&#8217;s developing for the EFG that may be adopted or jointly developed with Classroom.<\/p>\n<p>So far it&#8217;s shaping up to be a very productive meeting.
