{"id":1464,"date":"2009-02-23T22:15:24","date_gmt":"2009-02-24T03:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/?p=1464"},"modified":"2009-02-23T22:15:24","modified_gmt":"2009-02-24T03:15:24","slug":"philadelphia-bug-jam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/princessleia.com\/journal\/2009\/02\/philadelphia-bug-jam\/","title":{"rendered":"Philadelphia Bug Jam!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday the Philadelphia team of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntupennsylvania.org\">Ubuntu US Pennsylvania<\/a> hosted our <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/PennsylvaniaTeam\/EventsTeam\/PhiladelphiaFeb2009BugJam\">BugJam<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/phillylinux.org\">PLUG<\/a> member Art Alexion graciously offered us space at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhd.org\/\">Resources for Human Development<\/a> in great room with wired connections for the event, and access to a kitchen for our goodies.<\/p>\n<p>People started arriving around noon and we got things set up, retrieved the <a href=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0581.JPG\">Oreo Cake<\/a> and sticky buns donated by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pechterbread.com\/\">Pechter&#8217;s Bread<\/a>. We started things off pretty socially, answering basic questions and getting everyone online, with launchpad accounts. I had drafted up some <a href=\"http:\/\/ubuntupennsylvania.org\/download\/Ubuntu-US-PA-Bugjam-Handout.odt\">handouts<\/a> the night before and <a href=\"http:\/\/jedijf.blogspot.com\/\">Jim Fisher<\/a> supplied a bunch of printouts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Bugs\/HowToTriage\/Charts\">bug workflow charts<\/a>. When people were finally settled in <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.ubuntu.com\/Rocket2DMn\">Connor Imes<\/a> did a short presentation tour of the important Wiki pages and basics on how to find and handle bugs.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0588.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0588_sm.JPG\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0589.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0589_sm.JPG\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0591.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/princessleia.com\/images\/journalpics\/IMG_0591_sm.JPG\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>More photos were posted on our gallery: <a href=\"http:\/\/gallery.ubuntupennsylvania.org\/main.php?g2_itemId=523\">http:\/\/gallery.ubuntupennsylvania.org\/main.php?g2_itemId=523<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We spent until 6PM there, a six hours that went by far more quickly than any of us had anticipated. All told, we had 9 people show up, 7 who were able to attend for the entire BugJam. We even saw some new faces, which is always a delight.<\/p>\n<p>Great event!
