o_O It’s too early in the morning. Well I guess this weblog thing isnt too bad, it’s an interesting idea, letting your journal be posted on the ‘net, but hey, I have nothing to hide so why not! It’s also coincidentally interesting that this site matches my own website pretty well, I should link it…

So I was thinking last night, ’cause Myk was working on our server for our webpages (the company that hosts our box now is going out of business, so we needed to find a new home for our box… so he’s setting up a Dell to be put in the basement of our friends house, who has a T1) so I’ve had tons of time to read, write, etc. Which is good because sometimes I feel my eternal connection to my computer is bad, hehe. Ack, tangent.. “so i was thinking last night…” about all sorts of things, one of them was how disappointed I was about the episode 2 ticketsales. As of the time I am writing this it has only made $232,324,344, which isnt peanuts, but still… Episode 1 did better. I thought up a few reasons why this might have happened:

1. The pirated copy of Episode 2 that came out on the ‘net a full week before the movie came to theaters hurt ticket sales significantly. I personally know at least 1 person who has not gone to see it, and said he probably wouldnt, because he downloaded it. He would have gone if he didnt see it! So I assume there are many more like him out there.. Also, I think that even people who wanted to get the full effect of the film the first time, might settle for the comfort of their own computer chair to watch it more, dispite the quality (which is actually pretty good…)

2. Episode 1 sucked so bad, that people just arent giving Episode 2 a chance. I personally got my tickets for the midnight showing, the day of the opening… they werent NEARLY as scarce as the episode 1 tickets, I remember online scalpers making a fortune in busy areas by selling their tickets. But not this time! Also some people might have indefinately put off going to see the film, because of the gross disappointment of ep1 *sigh* Some people just wont budge, no matter what the critics say %)

3. There are a lot of really good movies out to compete with. Now although I do agree that there are a few big movies out now that some people would like to see more than starwars, namely Spiderman, Sum Of All Fears, and Insomnia… but I am not so inclined to agree with this reason, why? Remember Episode 1 had to compete with The Matrix and The Mummy! Yes, they were all in the theater together, and Episode 1 did very well.

It could of course be a mix of these reasons %) And most probably is, oh well it’s not all about money right? (*George Lucas comes and kills pl2 for saying that) Hehe…

NEXT! Ok, so I was reading one of my friend’s weblogs (Leslie2003) and she started doing this band review thing, and although I am not gonna do something like that ’cause I am too lazy (haha) it did get me thinking about bands I really like. I started thinking a lot about Radiohead, and how I really like them, and I am a bad fan ’cause I never have bought any of their cds (ah the age of the mp3). I havent been a fan of their’s forever, only since about ’99, I had heard Karma Police and Creep before that of course but could never place them *shrugs* I have a bunch of their songs now, old and new… They also remind me of my wild days back in Rochester, HAHA… ok it was 2 weeks of keg parties and experimentation, but there was this guy who was totally obsessed with Radiohead… anyway we ended up hanging out til 3 am listening to radiohead, drinking screwdrivers and smoking (smoking what? Hey I dont want to incriminate myself!!!)… So I guess, even though I really liked radiohead before that little experience, it has made me like the band even more, funny how experiences like that can make you feel different about a certain band/type of musik…

Well that’s all for now, I have some work to do **hugs**
