I finished the 7th Wheel of Time book on friday night, and then finished another book yesterday (I had a lot of time and it was a good book), so I have reviews of them now.

Book 7: A Crown Of Swords, By Robert Jordan, 880 pages
Again Jordan weaves a masterful tale in this 7th book of his Wheel Of Time series. Probably the most significant, or at least interesting, information in this book is the elaboration of information about the Seachan people. It’s very interesting to learn these peoples’ intentions, as well as seeing the characters’ reactions to the new and exotic beats brought by them. An important discovery is made that the fate of the world depends on, and we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger as to the fate of one of the characters. Also a few more of the prominent Black Ajah are revealed. Very good book, and didn’t seem to slow down like the previous book.

Myth Directions/Hit Or Myth, By Robert Asprin, 329 pages
This is book 3 and 4 of Asprin’s Myth series in one book. This book still follows the story of the magicians apprentice Skeeve, and a colorful cast of Demons (Dimensional Travelers). The first story brings Skeeve to a strange dimension where a game decides the ruling city of a land. Of course our young apprentice gets mixed up in it all… The second story is much more elaborate and I liked it more, Skeeve and his friends get involved with a reluctant king, a homicidal queen, and even the mob. Asprin’s sense of humor again caused me to laugh out loud a few times, while his wonderfully original cast is witty and lovable. A great book.

I think I am going to order more books tomorrow.. I have 1 on my shelf that I havent read, and I just started another last night, but I want to get my new box of books before we go up to my Aunt’s for thanksgiving (it’d suck if they sat on my doorstep for 5 days)…

So I had a lousy bad dream last night. It started out with me going back to the town I lived at with my ex… only it wasn’t that town, all the people were the same, but it was more like a city, really strange. I spent most of the dream avoiding my ex, and hanging out with all my old friends… there was this mall too, and in the middle of the spiral staircase between floors there was this HUGE model of the earth. Very strange, I dont have any idea where I got THAT from. Anyway as this huge long dream progressed (I woke up several times from it but always fell back to sleep into the dream) I met up with a few old friends from high school, including Leslie, who for some reason or another hated me. It was all very strange… in part of this dream there was an underground bar, that you could only access with a key… and in another part there was a grocery store that we couldnt park next to so I had to walk through the rain with all the grocerys to my car because no one would help me. Yeah, weird random stuff. I don’t know what I was thinking when I went to bed o_O

We took pictures of our computers last night (since my computer is all upgraded and everything is pretty and perfect now, hehe… So this is r2d2 %)

r2d2 computer

We have the rest of the pictures up on a little site I put together last night: Time And PrincessLeia2’s Computers. The only ones not on there are second (because he was dismanteled at the time), and the cobalt (our webserver), which is at the colo and I have never actually seen it before.

In other news… on monday of last week (Myk’s first day back from vacation!) there was a meeting to tell the employees that most of them would be laid off come early March. This is bad of course because Myk took this job because he assumed it was a nice big company that would give him a stable income, hah! Is anything stable anymore in the tech industry? Apparently not. So this whole week has been rather stressful for him. He’s updated his resume and has applied to a couple jobs, but it’s quite possible that he will not be making as much as he was. (anyone hiring? %D http://michael.bevilacqua.us) And sure, we can survive if he made less, but we’d have to avoid most of the dinners we have out, and cut our spending everywhere a lot. So I’m considering getting a part time job at LEAST. I told him that last night, and he still is playing the “I want to take care of you” role of an italian male, hehe… still he did admit that if his next job doesnt pay as much it would be helpful for me to find something “but only when I know that! And definately not before Christmas!” Hehe… Like I said before, he’s not against me getting a job, I can if I want to, he just doesnt want me to feel the NEED to get a job, and of course he wants me always to be home when he is, hehe. I dunno, maybe a part time job would be good for me, at least with that I’d look forward to my time on the computer and I’d probably utilize it better.

Yeah, so I am gonna go now, I think I’ll go through my wishlist on bn.com and see what I really want to get this time around… anyone have suggestions of good books? %)
