*sigh* weekend is almost over %( We ended up seeing “Minority Report” last night, I didnt want to go see it really, mostly because of that Lexus commercial, I *hate* when people use movies to sell products. But it was Myk’s birthday and our friends suggested we go see that so we did. It wasnt bad I guess, I dont like Tom Cruise much, and there are always paradoxal problems with movies that have to do with “seeing into the future and trying to change it” movies. But hey, it’s Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise I suppose they can get away with anything, just look at ticket sales, $73,424,800 in 2 weeks, not bad! Still the #2 movie in the country… and the theater we were in was pretty full, this is it’s 3rd week. Anyway, we went to Unos afterward, it wasnt bad for a saturday night… of course it was like 10 pm. They did the whole birthday song for Myk and he was all embarassed, hehe, but it was fun… we all came back to the apartment after and watched some wallace and gromit movies, as well as a dvd of aardman entertainment shorts, turned out to be a fun, (non-alcoholic!) night. We stayed up and chatted n stuff til about 5 am. See, 4 day weekend and my schdule is totally upside down.

Ah I feel a rant coming on! … So we paid like $8 each to see a movie, that’s not counting the overpriced snacks, etc that go along with movie theater attendance. So all this just to see a new movie, ok, sure, it’s something to do, it’s fun, I am willing to do all this to have something to do with friends sometimes, and something to talk about. So we get into the theater sit down and watch those silly on screen ads and movie questions. Then the film starts rolling “yay previews” and then I see… COMMERCIALS!! Now I know that commercials before movies have been pretty common for almost 10 years, and they pissed me off then too, but this theater showed like 5 or 6 of them!!! Thoughts ran through my head of seriously leaving at that point. Why do they need commercials? You figure they pay their employees minimum wage, it’s a 22 screen theater that is always busy so it’s not like the movies arent paying for themselves, and the markup on candy is like 300% … while dirt cheap popcorn and soda is marked up insanely, do they really need to show me 6 commercials before my movie?! Flockers…

Right, so I’m sure I have stuff to do today besides write here… so i’ll go figure out what that stuff is noew, I guess I should write some emails, I have been slacking off on that lately (oh yeah I always slack off on writing emails..this is nothing new).. so yeah.. bye.
