Cyndi Lauper – All Through The Night

I feel like crap. Just for fun we decided to drink last night, heh… big mistake, I only had four beers but that was apparently enough to make me sick for the night. I think it might have been ’cause I went to bed kinda early (10:30ish) and didnt eat or drink anything after the beer.. but I woke up around 2 getting sick… stayed up for a while until I knew I wouldnt get sick again then went back to bed. It ended up being a pretty awful night tho.. I think I kept Myk up for a while, which I always feel awful about ’cause he has work in the morning %( I think I’ll just quit drinking on weekdays, that way if I have a bad night sleep it wont be *that* much of a problem… Anyway I woke up this morning and I still have an upset stomach %( Been drinking lots of water… that should help as long as I can keep it down… I’ll try to eat some toast later.

So I got pretty far in the MySQL tutorial, I am far from an expert but I think I have the basics covered now, I’ll get more into it if I need to. I think I’ll start on the php tutorial again (the short one from php.net) Hopefully that’ll get me off in the right direction… and I will be able to replace php nuke princessleia.com with something my own %)

Gonna go get something to eat noew and hope i dont get sick, heh *wanders*

Peter Murphy – Just For Love

I found this really cool perl script yesterday, it’s for generating an html page of stats. I had seen them before for mIRC, but this one is an open source one for a bunch of different clients. It just reads the log, and makes a page *shrugs* pretty neat… I posted one for #13thHour, I think i’ll do a monthly thing, at the end of the month I’ll move the log flies and have it read the new month’s one. For now the stats page is located here

I’ve also been wandering around checking out streaming audiocasts. See some people in #deep13 have one, and I can’t contribute ’cause it’s a shoutcast, running only on winamp, so unless i ran winamp through wine, or did the DJ’ing through clockbot (our win2k server) I would have no way to use the plugins.. since they wont work with xmms… I found IceCast, but I think that’s only for ogg files… and I have so few ogg files it would be rather dull… I think there is one called IceDJ or something, that lets you broadcast mp3s from linux, I’ll look into it %)

Right, so that’s what I’ll do today, as well as working on that MySQL tutorial a bit too, I’m really making progress, even helped out Myk last night with the databases on our webserver ^_^ Yep, so bbl… *wanders*

Mediaeval Baebes – Razreesh

So yesterday was ok, went to Uno’s for lunch/dinner, then went to Border’s ’cause Myk gave blood on friday and they gave him border’s coupons for 20% off a purchase… we each got two cds. Myk got some Steve Roach… I got the newest Peter Murphy CD, Dust, and the newest Mediaeval Baebes cd, The Rose… I am really impressed with the Peter Murphy one, since I havent really heard any of his stuff since what he did in the late 80s/early 90s. The MB cd I’m listening to right noew, it’s what I expected, good %)

So then we rented a couple movies, On The Beach (’cause I read the book it was based on a few years ago) and Kingpin, ’cause I hadnt seen it and ppl said it was funny. On The Beach was good… but sad of course, since it’s about the world after a full scale nuclear war and most of the world has died, and the ones living are struggling to survive. Should be required viewing for anyone in any position of nuclear power %) The movie was like 3 hours and 20 minutes long tho.. luckily they did a nice job of keeping people entertained… so it was different than the book, but still good. Kingpin was pretty funny too, bowlers are so strange, and it was hardly exaggerating, bowlers are REALLY fucking strange, hehehe. Also drank some last night *takes summore tylenol* hehe, we tried to invite some people over too, but they were sorta non-responsive, I guess that happens when you wait til 10 pm to invite %) Hopefully we’ll have a party or something sometime in september or october, when the weather cools down a bit.

Hmmm so I am still playing with MySQL quite a bit, it’s cool, I’m learning a lot… so I’m gonna go work on that, then prolly go read for a while, *wanders off*

Right, I ended that entry rather abruptly %D It’s because someone asked me if I wanted to play Unreal Tournament, hehehe… they dragged me away from writing here, kicking and screaming I assure you ;)

What was I talking about again? OH RIGHT that IRC addiction of mine. See it’s mostly a lot of kids who chat all day during the summer, addicted, sure, but they go back school, and have that stuff to do… but i dont go back to school… I just sit on 3 chat servers all day and chat almost everytime I topic I have interest comes up, which happens far more often than I’d like. I really try to get work done %( I just cant close the chat windows! I mean seriously… I hate going to bed at night ’cause I am afriad I will miss something, and then when I wake up in the morning i scroll up to see if i missed anything. Is there a cure for this kind of addiction? I mean these people are my friends not a drug! Hehee.. Oh well, at least it’s not a real drug I’m addicted to %)

Hmm, I dunno if we’re doing anything this weekend… prolly arent… I’m about 450 pages into the 4th wheel of time book, and it’s really good %) I guess I wouldnt mind spending the weekend emmersed in Jordan’s world.

Anyway, I’m gonna try to avoid the strong pull of looking in the chat windows ever 5 minutes and get some more php stuff learned %) *wanders*

Ani DiFranco – Napoleon

Caffinated Penguin mintys are tasteh. It’s been an interesting week… It’s my dad’s birthday today, I can’t call him, hopefully that card will get to him soonish.. heh. Anyway, I played with MySQL and PHP quite a bit yesterday, and I have to say… I really love php %) I mean I already knew that… but each time I play with it I just love it more and more, hehe. I even made a cute little webpage for r2… just on the network so i’m the only one who will ever see it, lol, but it’s cute anyway.. and better than the silly standard test page Apache (or redhat?) puts up.

Anyway, I think I can officially say I am addicted to IRC. Ack… hmmm i’ll write later

Mediaeval Baebes – Aria w/Delerium

Hallmark doesnt make a card for “happy birthday, sorry you’re in detox.” Honestly, what kind of birthday card was I supposed to get my father who just entered rehab? “I hope your birthday is fun and full of surprises!” ? I think not.. I ended up looking at cards for like 10 minutes before I decided on a pretty generic one, still it wasnt entirely appropriate, but is anything at this point?

I got a phone call from my cousin, the one that lives here in philadelphia, yesterday. She mostly wanted to make sure I was up to date on stuff with my father, since last she knew Heather hadn’t even told me. Apparently my dad’s family in new Hamshire is helping heather clean up the house and move stuff… that’s good, I’m glad she has some help (’cause when I talked to her she didnt mention that)… apparently they will help her financially if she needs it. Unfortunately the other news my cousin had for me isnt so great. Apparently she is “lost and doesnt know what she is doing with her life” (this again? does anyone know what they are ever doing?) SO she’s moving back home to NH with her parents.

So the funny thing about this is I’m not at all depressed. Sometimes I get depressed over the silliest little things, but this big serious thing doesnt bother me nearly as much as it should. I am such a woman, heehee. I dunno, maybe it seriously means I have a chemical imbalance and it’s not just life sucking… ’cause life doesnt really suck.. hmm.

Anyway… I never got php to work correctly yesterday on my computer, heh, had to wait for Myk to get home to set it up properly for me, heh… so I’m gonna go play with that noew %) *wanders off*

Peter Murphy – Crystal Wrists

Wow I was in a bitching mood yesterday %) Today I’m in a much better mood, I really shouldn’t let stupid stuff like that get to me so much when there are more serious things going on…

What more serious stuff? Well things with my family… heh, I spoke to my sister Heather (the 19 year old one… online nick Purpledragon11…). Apparently my father is currently in a 9-12 month rehab place for his alcoholism. Heh, it was no secret that my father was an alcoholic, and I knew it was a problem, but this is pretty serious. My sister is starting college on september 3rd, and the landlord is selling the house so they need to move everything out of the house by september 15. They knew about this last month of course, but my sis didn’t expect to have to pay for a new place herself, she was going to live with my father. SO my dad went to this rehab place last week, and my sis has to deal with getting stuff moved into storage, cleaning the house before they move, finding a new place to live that she can afford as a parttime working college student, AND worry about starting school in 3 weeks. She’s got a bit of savings, but this is all obviously stressing her out… I really with I was in a position to help her, but I’m really not, and it sucks %( I guess when it comes down to it I am really angry at my father for letting himself get into this mess… my sister DEPENDED on him, and he couldnt straighten out his life even for her. Bleh, stupid family shit… oh and my mother, other sister, and my ma’s new husband (jerry) went “down south” for a vacation… visiting some southern states, apparently visiting Jerry’s family or something, and going to a few amusement parks n stuff, so my mother hasn’t even heard yet, heh.

Anyway… I dont really feel like writing anymoer (geez i’ve been like that a lot lately)… I just setup MySQL on my box, and php is enabled so I am gonna mess around with that %D *wanders off*

I should change this blog’s name to “Bitching about Netsol/Verisign” More trouble? you ask, oh yes! I got an email this morning telling me that my request had NOT been received. Oh! Contradictions!! I called them this morning to see what the fuck was up, finally spoke to a manager who said the request had not been recieved and that he would “follow up” on the previous email telling me that it had been, uggh!!! So I emailed a friend of ours (who has a bit of experience with domain registration) to see what he’d do in this situation. Of course I’ve had other problems with verisign, and it would be so easy just to refax the request, ’cause if I moved it over to Gandi.net I’d have to mail Nikole the new printed pdf, she’d need to get it notarized AGAIN, then send it to gandi and wait for them to process it. Ugh %(

Hmmm So enough about that. I watched “Boogie Nights” last night for the first time. Heh, good “interesting” movie, funny, sad, yeah I liked it. Hrm… I am gonna go wander off for now, cant think of stuff to write…

Incubus – Pardon Me

So I looked into the .us domain names… apparently you cannot register them for less than 2 years, so it’d be a commentment, but other than that the only restriction is you have to be a us citizen, which I am of course. So maybe tonight we’ll register krumbach.us and bevilacqua.us %D!! That’d be so cool, I might even put a little page up at krumbach.us since I am paying for it, hehe.

So have I bitched about how much I hate Network Solutions/Verisign lately? Well it’s time for it again! Here’s the background story for ppl who havent been kept up to date. Back in January or so I stumbled on princessleia.com. Now having princessleia2.com and it not being a primarily starwars site I was happy to stumble on princessleia.com and find that that too was just a woman’s personal site, I emailed her and told her so. Then i late febuary she emailed me and said “hey, I dont really want princessleia.com anymore, it expires in april, you want it?” I jumped at the chance of course, and so started the long, long battle with netsol. The process of changing the owner of a domain is a pain, you need to pay $15 for them to do it, as well as get the new owner to sign and fill out some info, and previous owner to sign and get notarized a form that is then faxed to network solutions. So I had to print the form, fill in and sign my stuff, send it to the owner in california, for her to do her stuff, and then she faxed it to netsol, in May. I paid for the domain to get renewed in april, so this could all get transfered n stuff, and I expected this to end quickly and nicely, HA! In the end of June I got a bit worried, called and they said that they were swamped with requests like this and it could take up to 6 weeks. Ok I said. I emailed them in July to MAKE SURE they got the request to transfer it to me, and yes, they had gotten it. So waiting waiting.. now over 3 months since the request has been sent in I am STILL waiting. It’s very frustrating because there are things i need to do with the domain, I want to move it away from netsol (to gandi.net, only $10 a year for registration!!!). And it’s just all around frustrating having something like this hanging. They havent even contacted us saying there was a problem!! So today I emailed them telling them that we’d cancel the whole request, and move all our domains off netsol if this isnt resolved quickly. Hopefully that’ll get them to get off their asses and figure out what the problem is. If not, I will be true to my word and give up on them %)

Ah so this morning I made a list of mp3s to send my broski in Belgium. We’re putting together an “american sampler pack” with some sierra nevada beer, hershey’s chocolate, a few state quarters, starwars episode 2 (that wonderful pirated copy, oooo), and some mp3s. It took most of the morning and I still only got 200 mb of mp3s *shrugs* I’ll have Myk add one of his mixes and some of his favorite ambient when he gets home. I also made up pretty labels for all the cdrs, hehe… so it’s been a productive day I guess, and I’m happy, ooo two mondays in a row where I am in a good mood! What is the world coming to?

Anyway, I’m gonna go screw around with my MST3K site for a while, almost have the sounds section done… trying to think of other sections to put up… links definately… hmm *shrugs* stuff… *wanders off*
