So my webpage is still down, which obviously has me pretty bummed… Oh and we got the electric bill, no more A/C all day! Unless it’s really hot, so it’s getting pretty warm in here, I guess I could go to another room, since I know the computers are what cause most of the heat in here, but that would not be any fun. I’m just drinking lots of water and trying to keep myself occupied, it’s supposed to be in the 80s for the next week at least, ugh, I miss Maine, hehe.

So with my site down, what was I doing all day? I was playing games with my neopets ok!!! Yep, the sad sad world of my life, I have 3 neopets. The only reason I dont just kill myself now (that’s sarcasm folks, geez), is ’cause I know a guy online who has neopets too, and he’s older than me and he’s not gay, hehehe. So I am sure I am not the only college age person with one.. *ahem* so yes, I spent like most of the morning and half the afternoon playing with them. I got a bit carried away with Blackjack tho (no one told me card games were addictive!!!), I ended up losing half my money… not that it matters much, you can get it back by playing free games n stuff. I even went as far as working on their little webpages. I still probably will when I finish this and realize how insanely bored I am again. Unfortunately since my webserver is down (ugghhhh!!!) I cant make my own banners n stuff yet for the sites if I do decide to create them. Geez I have no life.

No wait! Tomorrow we are going somewhere where there are people n stuff. One of our friends has a pool and he’s sorta having a pool party tomorrow. Of course I dont have a bathing suit, and I’m so insanely self concious I prolly wouldnt swim anyway, but it’s a great excuse %D I guess they wanna play D&D too, they will prolly beg Myk and I to play. And being a geek, I have played *once* but that was a while ago and playing a couple sessions definately doesnt get one used to playing a game… luckily I played Vampire The Maquarade quite extensively so I *do* know how rpg’s usually play out. Myk on the otherhand (being the cool guy that he is) has never played. How did I end up with a guy who is only recently turned geek? Hehehe. It’s like when we went to the midnight showing of starwars, I was probably the only girl that dragged her boyfriend to it instead of vice versa… bleh, anyway… I dont really wanna play but Myk had mentioned to them that he might sit in for a session sometime, and I guess tomorrow will be a pretty good opportunity. Plus it’s a good reason to get out of the house for the day and not spend lots of money, hehe.

Hmmmm in other news, Lilo and Stitch comes out today… ah I remember back in the day when I went to see every disney movie opening day… for Hercules we even went to a special expensive sneak peek a week early. We got a neat commemorative pin n stuff (which i scanned, but of course i cant post ’cause my website is down!!!)… too bad the movie sucked. Anyway, I dunno if Lilo and Stitch will be any better, but dispite my slacking in seeing disney movies on opening day I have seen them all in the theater… Atlantis I saw at a drive in, double feature with Pearl Harbor… I guess seeing both those movies was sorta worth the $5 I paid. Anyway, I’ll have to drag Myk to see it with me since we never got to see Ice Age, and we havent been to the theater since StarWars, and I am a movie theater going fiend! Must. Have. Fix. %) Anyway… I am gonna go wander off and do nothing again, oh maybe I’ll work on that perl tutorial a bit and pick out pieces from madragorans shitfi.pl xchat script to see if I can figure it out with my expanded perl knowledge. Or I could just play with my neopets.

Ok, time for a pissed off rant! So I’m logging onto Audiogalaxy this afternoon because I have never heard “Jimmy Eat World” before (I’m serious, I dont listen to the radio, what can I say?), so I think “hey, maybe I’ll go grab a couple mp3s and see if I like” … WELL they’ve gone the way of napster!!! Fucking (am I allowed to say that? Heehee) recording agency sued them (well i knew that) and apparently they were like “ok, we will stop being bad” So noew you cant get a friggin thing! Not even music from artists on mp3.com! Legitimately free mp3s!!! Plus it spams you with like every click. Now, you may ask “duh just use kazaa or something” .. well you see, kazaa decided to go all homo microsoft on us and now the linux port of their software doesnt work, and I am not going to be forced to booting into windows for a day just for the chance that an mp3 download might decide to finish. Audiogalaxy was the only mp3 thing I could get running in linux, and now they’ve gone all stupid on me! Maybe I should just give up on popular music all together ’cause I have so much contempt for the recording agency. No I wont calm down!!! It’s very annoying that they decide to limit technology like this, to the extent where even when the artists want their mp3s to be free they can’t be.

In other news my site is still down, but if you are seeing this site you can probably tell that since it’s pictureless. I wrote up a little 9.11 page for my site ’cause I kept meaning to, but I’ve been lazy, and I guess my list of things “i gotta put on my site” is pretty long %) … anyway… I think i am gonna go read or something ’cause I dont feel like sitting here writing anymore

Ah a new day… Freaking lawn monkeys here at the apartment complex decided to start work at like 7 am… So my nose is all sniffly, stupid grass!! %) So yesterday my computer problems didnt simply end with the crap I explained… Myk came home and was able to fix my monitor problem. One of the pins was bent… prolly was just bent enough so when I cleaned around my desk yesterday afternoon it knocked it out of place enough to get weird, then prolly got bent more when i pulled it out and tried to plug it back in. But the computer problems continued with an exploit that made us have to shut down our websites, unless we wanted to risk our sites getting all fuxz0red. *sigh!!* So this xanga site is a mess as well, seeing as my images were all hosted on my webserver. Hopefully Cobalt will release the patch today so we can get the sites back up… Maybe I just shouldnt have gotten up yesterday? %) Well I guess I’ll go grab some breakfast n stuff…

*Sigh* … seemed like today would be so boring and basic like all the rest, but noooo all computers had to hate me today! This morning wasnt so bad, but this afternoon was awful.. first clockbot (our win2k print/scan/musik server) crashed, prolly ’cause I was playing mp3s on win media player all day and it didnt like that. So I rebooted that, and it’s fine… THEN I wandered off to clean up some stuff, and I came back and my screensaver was on, like normal. I moved my mouse and my screen was all redless!!! NO RED!!! It’s all tealish noew %( Still %( … I tried all sorts of things rebooting, unplugging stuff and plugging it back in.. I dont know what’s wrong, I DIDNT TOUCH ANYTHING, it was just on screensaver!!! And red just leaves, I dont know if it lost red while the screensaver was on or when it turned off ’cause I didnt really pay much attention and the screensaver is pretty blue anyway, ugh %(! I hope it’s not my monitor going, I can afford to get another one, but I was sorta hoping to get a new processor and motherboard, and of course not spend as much as a new freaking monitor will cost *sigh!!*

Yep, so that’s been my day pretty much. I hope this evening is better… maybe I’ll ask Myk if we can get pizza or something for dinner. As for right now I’m gonna grab a glass of chocolate milk and read, ’cause being on a computer is very depressing when it’s missing red, not only because I know something is messed up, but because it’s all blue and I cant read anything in red!

*Yawn* So I dont even know how much sleep I got last night… but it wasn’t much. I went to bed around midnight… woke up around 2.. sorta dozed til around 4, when I got up and played around online for a little bit, putting up a survey for the 13thhour page and stuff. I guess I wandered back to bed around 5:30… dozed for a little while, pretty much was awake by 7:30.. so I spent the morning reading. Now i’m all drowsy, I hate this insomnia crap!!! I had been sleeping well I guess til last night…

Anyway, I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom this afternoon, fun fun, now my hands smell like bleach, I hate that .. no matter how many times I wash them, ick… It’s hotish out again today, I love central air conditioning %) I dont have to expose myself to the real weather, hehehe. God, I hate how lack of sleep makes me zone off so much o_O I guess I’ll wander around now and try to figure out how I bound those windows keys, I really wish I had written down the instructions when I did it, ’cause I was looking last night with little to no luck, ugh. Oh… I do have good news about a new potential linux convert %D! This girl has a slowish computer and windows crashes on it so much to make it almost unusable… she’s gonna check on how good her vid card is and maybe decide to install redhat %) Luckily since her machine sucks so bad on windows she has very few demands as far as a computer goes (word processor, internet, and image program)… And basic x can handle that %) … Unfortunately she uses icky AOL… but she says she can change to a different dial up company if she decides to go through with it. Ah did I mention that she’s 14? %) Yes, enticing a whole new generation to join us! Mwahahaha… erm… heh.. right %)

I hate it when my webbrowser crashes and I lose a big post that I was writing, possibly the first time I didnt back it up, bleh!! *Bonks Opera* Ughh… well I will start over then. I actually did end up getting some work done today %) I was bored at first so I was surfing some xanga sites, and I stumbled upon a kewl one with a link to a .tk site. Well, curious as to what country .tk was I followed the link on the site to the .tk main site (www.dot.tk) .. Well apparently it’s a small Pacific island near Western Samoa, called Tokelau. It’s a country, and is inhabited by fewer than 1500 people, and, being quite a poor unknown nation, they decided to sell and give away their domains. This is so cool… The free domains you can get are pretty much address forwarding things (you need to have a webpage, first, by typing in the domain you are forwarded to your site), but there are other packages, ranging from $10-$25.. With the free one you dont actually have legal ownership, and if you dont get enough traffic (30 hits per 90 days) they will take it away from you… but that’s quite reasonable %) And as far as banners are concerned, you choose to have them on! That’s right… you dont *have* to have your site have .tk banners on it, but there are contests and other incentives to doing so %)

Now the point of all that was not just rambling to tell everyone to get their own free domain, or to plug their for pay services… it was to say, I have www.13thHour.tk !!! And I’m pretty happy about it, obviously. I’ve been looking at 13thHour.com for quite some time noew, and have been frustrated that some meanie-head is holding it, and trying to sell it for at least $200. Hell no! And the other popular 13thHour releted sites out there are taken, so this is the next best thing %) I made the site load faster, ’cause I realized that all the images on it made it take forever if you are on dial up. So it’s a more friendly page altogether now.

So that was my big exciting news of the day. Oh, I bound my windows keys here in linux a few months back, and I just got around to telling Myk last night (I could have sworn I told him before that tho…)… Well I was gonna write up a “how to” for it ’cause pressing alt + windows key to open opera (or any other application) in linux (enlightenment desktop) is just SO COOL. Not only am I thwarting microsoft’s evilness by replacing their stupid key with a virtual compeditor, I am also making otherwise useless keys for me useful %) but I am sorta running out of time today so I guess I’ll work on those instructions tomorrow, hopefully they might be useful to someone, someday.

Hmmm what else… oh I walked up to the store today, fun fun… I bought a couple birthday cards, one for my penpal lucy, and another for a chat friend of mine. It’s the least I can do, seeing as I was completely out of touch from the rest of the world for a couple years ;) Too bad greeting cards are so freaking expensive, hehe. I thought we should probably send out christmas cards this year as well… but then I started thinking “damn I am getting old! Old people send out christmas cards!” hehehehe. Oh well, I did send out some back when I was in high school, to a couple of my good friends, this isnt much different, ‘cept I am planning on sending them to relatives too, I guess that’s the old person part %)

Anyway, I guess I’m gonna go wander off, prolly making perogies with vegtables for dinner before going out to go grocery shopping (fun fun…). I hate grocery shopping, isnt there a service that you can give your shopping list to and they do the shopping for you? Hehe… people suck, and there are always people at the grocery store… Ok, %) bye.

So like I said I would, I changed the logo of this little site ’cause the other was too crazy, and I decided I wanted to spam everyone with my URL %) I also decided that since I’m obviously keeping this xanga journal that I should join some blogrings (should? I dunno… I just felt like it) I almost forgot they existed ’til Leslie2003 joined some, then I was like “oh right, good idea” … Oh I also made one of my own, since there wasn’t a chinchilla one. Not that I expect people to actually join it *shrugs*

Anyway… this is a short terrible entry isnt it? Hehe, I’m gonna walk to the store noew ’cause there isnt much here to eat, and I gotta get a birthday card for my penpal… I’ll write more later…

So last night was nice… I decided that I didnt really feel like drinking beer, ’cause I wasnt much in the mood for a headache. We played some UT with a friend, that was fun, I won a couple matches, hehe… Then I was like “oh man i’m tired” And realized it was really late, like 1:30ish… so just ’cause it was nice and cool out Myk made a fire and we had some tea.. it was nice, stayed up til like 3:30 or so, before wandering off to bed to sleep ’cause I was so tired. Then of course we slept in til like noon, ’cause it’s a weekend, hehe. I finished the first david eddings book in “The Malloreon” series, Gardans Of The West I thought about writing a review but maybe I’ll wait and review the whole series after I finish reading it, like I did with the other Eddings books I read… Otherwise I might give away too much in my reviews. I will say it was pretty good, much different, character construction wise, than the other series I read which is cool… I am not sure I can say which I liked more yet. So I’ll be starting King Of The Murgos this evening.. hopefully I wont find the need to get through these books too quickly… since I only have 4 of the 5 books, and it’ll suck if i finish #3 and have to wait a while to get the 4th… bleh

Well Myk is making some dinner so I guess I’ll wander off and see if he needs any help (smells good %d mmmm)…

So I was going to go read, but then Myk suggested we pull out the beer, and beer+reading=getting nowhere in book … so I decided to go online instead. Yup, to the net where there are logs and blogs, all sorts of fun things to record my alcohol induced mistakes. Oh well… seriously I came back to write this because I forgot to mention in my last entry (due to haste, not it’s importance!) what was on my fortune from my fortune cookie! No, not the side that gives you the fortune, the back, which is usually blank, or tells you how to say some word in chinese.. this time it was an ad for half.com!!! Yep, I’m being spammed by my fortune cookie… I was so outraged that I scanned it:

I am not too fond of partying, most clubs are 21+…even if i was the clubbing type. I guess we could have invited friends over, butwe didnt get home tonight til after 9. Ugh, I gotta stop complaining, since I really dont have a problem with drinking beer, chatting and blogging, I guess I was just saying something ’cause it might seem pathetic to the casual observer.

Ah today was ok, not so boring since Myk was home. We did a bit of rearranging in the computer room after finding some ants in the room… we cleaned the whole room and then decided while the furnature was out to move it. Fun fun… bleh. Myk also got a new computer chair, that he’s putting together right now, hehe… and I got his old comfy one (his new one is leather and it’s not so comfy, hehe!).. Hmmm what else… I had a pretty boring day other than that… not that that wasnt boring, ugh.

So we went out for chinese tonight, I felt like eating sweet and sour chicken, and we dont know any chinese places around here so we just drove by a plaza and were like “is there a chinese place there?” And there just happened to be one, so we went. The restaurant was very pink inside, pink napkins, pink booths… strange, since it was called “Golden China” … the food ended up being surprisingly good however. Anyway… I am gonna go read n stuff…
